‘Renewables for good’ - this is the motto of the non-profit Energiequelle Foundation established in Treuenbrietzen on 27 September 2016.

Energiequelle GmbH has been committed to social and cultural causes in our project regions throughout Germany for many years. The Energiequelle Foundation gives this commitment a new form.

Our new foundation is explicitly concerned with raising awareness of environmental and climate protection issues. We want to help shape a future worth living for the generations of our children and grandchildren. We therefore promote science and research in the field of renewable energies. Changing our energy system begins with imparting knowledge about the sustainable use of nature and the environment - our resources. By promoting projects in education and nature conservation, we create a basic understanding of this topic.

Rural areas are at the centre of the energy transition. We support traditional village life in the areas of art, culture and customs. We are also committed to helping young people and the elderly.

Doreen Raschemann and Marion Setzefand, the foundation's board members, work with local committees to decide on the allocation of funding and the selection of projects. In principle, non-profit organisations and institutions in the project regions of Energiequelle GmbH can submit an application to the foundation.
