Restoration and monitoring of 12.000 square metres of bogland in Klingenberg

In 2016, we were able to compensate for the impact on nature and the landscape caused by the construction of the Klingenberg wind farm with six wind turbines by implementing a highly effective measure. To this end, we restored an approx. 12-hectare drained raised bog.

In spring 2016, construction work began in preparation for the rewetting. Dams were built on the drained moor area to store rainwater. In addition to the consent of over 80 landowners, the excellent cooperation with all parties involved was an important factor for the successful initiation of the rewetting of the moor relic.
