How it all began
We have been pursuing this vision since 1997 with the project planning, commissioning and operational management of wind energy, biogas and photovoltaic plants as well as transformer stations and storage facilities. Today, Energiequelle speaks many languages. But no matter which one we use to communicate: The passion for what we do is part of every sentence.
Today, Energiequelle is one of the pioneers in the field of renewable energies. The company was founded in 1997 by Doreen and Michael Raschemann and Joachim Uecker. After the foundation phase, the start-up was launched with four of its own wind turbines and an annual turnover target of DM 200,000. At that time, the company still had no employees and no offices of its own. Work was carried out in the kitchens of the Raschemanns‘ and Ueckers’ homes: one kitchen was in Bremen, the other in Kallinchen near Berlin. These two locations have remained and developed significantly to this day. Since the founding year, many other office locations have been added.
In 2010, Energiequelle took over the French company ‘P&T’ as a wholly owned subsidiary, which plans and manages wind farms in France. Today, P&T bears our name and operates in France as Energiequelle SAS.
One year later, Energiequelle realised a sensational project in Germany: Feldheim, a village in Brandenburg, became the first and so far only energy self-sufficient village in Germany. With the help of Energiequelle, the village's electricity and heat supply was realised exclusively via renewable energies, which flow directly to the consumer and not just virtually.
Feldheim was also associated with another technical innovation as part of the energy transition: the Regional Controlled Power Plant (RRPP) was put into operation in 2015. With its 10 megawatt lithium-ion battery, it compensates for fluctuations in the transmission system operator's grid frequency and also secures the village's full supply. In the same year, Energiequelle founded its subsidiary in Finland. Since then, we have also been working with our Finnish team on the energy transition there.
Since the departure of Joachim Uecker in October 2019, Energiequelle has been managed solely by Michael Raschemann.
In 2022, the company celebrated its 25th anniversary as well as the strongest year in its history in terms of turnover. Since then, Energiequelle has been on a pronounced growth trajectory. Subsidiaries have been established in Poland, Greece and South Africa.
